Error message and machine not operating

OpenGlasswasher reports an error and will not run normally

1. Symptoms and evidence

  • Bunk Manchester glasswasher reported not working.
  • Error message visible in the supplied video; the exact wording/code still needs a still frame or transcription.
  • Make/model not readable from the received video; the existing C405WS at another venue is the working identification only.
  • No repair or reset outcome has yet been reported.

2. Ranked possibilities

  • Door not fully closed, latch/interlock not proving, or “door” state remaining active.
  • Low/no incoming water, closed stopcock, blocked inlet filter, or tank not reaching level.
  • Drain/filter/sump obstruction or drain hose problem.
  • Temperature, probe, boiler/tank heating or high-limit fault preventing a cycle.
  • Detergent/rinse-aid dosing or chemical fault, if the message relates to dosing.
  • Electrical supply, fuse/isolator, pump, valve, sensor or PCB fault.

3. Error-led checks

Before resetting
  1. Photograph the display exactly as shown, including any number, letter or flashing symbol.
  2. Note whether the door is open/closed, whether the tank contains water, and whether any breaker or isolator has tripped.
  3. Do not repeatedly power-cycle or clear the message before recording it.
Safe operator checks
  1. Switch off normally, close the door firmly, and check that nothing obstructs the latch.
  2. Confirm the water stopcock is open and the inlet hose is not kinked.
  3. With power isolated, remove and clean only the accessible tank filters; check the drain opening for glass or debris.
  4. Check the drain hose is not crushed and that the waste connection is not blocked.
  5. Restore power once and run the normal fill/start sequence only if there is no leak, burning smell, exposed wiring or unsafe condition.
Engineer-only meaning

Persistent door, fill, drain, temperature or pump faults require testing of the interlock, inlet valve/filter, pressure/level system, drain pump, heater/high-limit, temperature probe, supply voltage, contactors and PCB. Do not bridge switches or open electrical panels.

Safe checks first

Practical troubleshooting sequence

  1. Capture the code: take a clear photo of the display before switching off. Exact messages distinguish door, fill, drain, rinse and temperature faults.
  2. Check the door: close it firmly and confirm any “door” message clears. Never defeat the latch or microswitch.
  3. Check fill: confirm water supply and stopcock, then listen for filling. If it does not fill, isolate and call an engineer rather than repeatedly restarting.
  4. Check drain: if water remains in the tank, isolate power, clean accessible filters and inspect the visible sump/drain hose for blockage. Treat broken glass as a cut hazard.
  5. Check temperature: if it fills but refuses to run or shows a heat-related error, record displayed boiler/tank temperatures. Do not use it for service unless wash and final-rinse temperatures are verified.
  6. One reset only: after recording the code and completing safe checks, isolate at the proper local isolator for five minutes and restore once. If the message returns, leave it out of service.
  7. Engineer handover: provide the code, photos, water status, door status, temperatures, any tripped protection and whether the error returns immediately or after filling.

Stop using it for leaks, burning smell, exposed wiring, repeated trips, broken glass in the pump area, or unverified wash/rinse temperatures.

Useful evidence to collect

Send these next

  • Still photo of the exact error message.
  • Rating plate showing model, serial, voltage/phase and kW.
  • Whether the door message clears when latched.
  • Whether the machine fills, drains, or leaves water behind.
  • Any sound from inlet valve, wash pump or drain pump.
  • Temperature display and any breaker/isolator activity.

Error / no-operation report

Bunk Manchester — glasswasher reported not working with an error message on 10 September 2026. Video supplied; exact displayed code and rating label still to confirm. Please photograph/transcribe the message before clearing it, confirm door interlock state, water supply/fill and tank level, filters/sump/drain pump, inlet valve/filter, displayed tank/boiler temperatures, supply voltage/protection, heating/high-limit/probe and PCB outputs. Record the confirmed model/serial and failed part. Do not bypass safety devices.
